Week 13-14
Week 13-14

Time flies, so I haven’t written for two weeks.
My colleague and I have split up and are working on two different jobs.
I continue at the café, while my colleague is working on the semi-detached house. We have also brought in an extra person to help my colleague at the house. The plumber has continued working there and has finished everything that needs to be concealed. The tilers have re-tiled a bathroom where the tiles were starting to fall off. Otherwise, ceiling and wall plastering is ongoing, along with sanding, and painting has also started in the house.
At the café, painting of the walls and ceilings in the corridor and café area is in full swing.
It’s not finished near the window section, as the electrician has been notably absent, despite promises to complete the work. We are still waiting for them to connect the wiring in various junction boxes and in the electrical panel. We are also missing a new external power supply, which we had to arrange in order to have enough capacity for ovens and larger machines.
However, we have received the flooring that was missing in the café area. It even arrived before the promised delivery date, which is very unusual. The tilers have continued working in the kitchen and are more than halfway done. The kitchen flooring is still missing, and I am waiting for a response from the client about it.
The AC units are now connected and finished, which is a big relief.
We also got approval from the client who wants to replace the windows in their apartment, so that work will be carried out at the end of May.
In the middle of this week, we also received a small extra assignment: to finish two apartments that others had not completed.
We were to install ceiling fans, lighting, fix the edges of the bar counter, assemble beds, and install shower enclosures. The shower installation started “well,” as one package had already been opened and it turned out that some rails were the wrong length. So we had to start cutting them just to be able to assemble the shower.
It’s always interesting to take over someone else’s work!
However, it’s not the best location, as it couldn’t be more central—right in the middle of central Valencia.
