week 17-20

I haven’t written for a while for various reasons, so here’s a summary covering several weeks.
I was in Sweden to celebrate my mother, so one week disappeared there.
When I got back, it was time for a project we had looked at earlier, which according to the agreement with the customer was to be carried out at the end of April. The job was located about a one-hour drive north of Valencia. The customer wanted the terrace painted, along with the surrounding wall. A canopy roof was also to be built over the staircase leading down to the second floor. Previously, rain had fallen straight down there, and during heavy downpours some water had even entered the first floor.
The work started with cleaning the terrace, followed by one coat of paint, installation of mesh, and then two additional coats of grey roof paint. The wall was washed and then painted twice with white paint.
For the canopy roof, wooden beams were attached to the wall, and the rest of the frame was built from there. Grooves were cut for sheet metal flashing, which was installed over the corrugated plastic roof so that the water would run out onto the roof properly.
The job was a bit challenging since the staircase up to the roof was about 4.5 meters high. The weather also played tricks on us with several heavy rain showers, so the work had to be planned between the downpours.
After that, there has been some work at the café. The electrician has FINALLY started, slowly but surely. Some kitchen interior fittings have also been ordered, and deliveries have begun. The façade has received its green color as well — only the electrical cabinet remains to be painted!
Construction of the frame for the bar counter also began over the weekend. We just need to buy some more materials so we can continue with it.
Over the past few weeks, my colleague has also started a new project. It’s an old commercial space that will be converted into an apartment. They have removed all the old interior and started framing the new walls.
The semi-detached house project is also moving forward, although slowly. Painting is ongoing, as well as plastering and repairing all the walls on the roof terrace, which were in terrible condition. Hopefully, we’ll be able to finish this project within the next few weeks. However, some extra work was added, as the terrace and roof also need to be treated with waterproofing paint.
